In the wild, Hedgies eat a variety of food items that are generally high in protein and low in fat like insects, slugs, frogs, fish, worms and eggs. Brambles is 25% protein and 12% fat so it falls well within this "normal" protein to fat ratio.
They also eat insects which have hard outer parts. Crunching through those shells is great for Hedgie tooth health. Guess what? Brambles mimics that crunch!
Brambles is a great complementary food for your Hedgie but remember that variety is key. Your Hedgie should also be given treats on ocassion which offer natural enrichment. Things like collard greens, romaine lettuce, papaya and the odd live insect (from an insecticide free environment) - please remember to do your research on safe treats for hedgehogs and avoid DAIRY, GRAPES, BREAD, RAISINS, SULTANAS,CURRENTS and BERRIES
